National Woman's Party
The National Woman’s Party (NWP) was famous for staging militant protests (such as picketing the White House and hunger strikes), which resulted in force feedings and several arrests. One of the most infamous protests took place on March 2, 1913, where anti-suffragists physically and verbally abused marchers while they marched past the White House.
On to Washington (1913)"In 1913, the suffragists 'Army of the Hudson' marched the 225 miles from Newark, New Jersey to Washington D.C. in 16 days for a March 3rd parade march to coincide with the inauguration of newly-elected U.S. President, Woodrow Wilson"
